Welcome to our web site!

On this home page, we'll introduce the appaloosa history.  When appaloosas started appearing and when the Coffee Cup Appoloosas started.

The appaloosa has been around for centuries.  They have shown there blanket in drawings by the ancient Chinese and in caves by the Indians when the Spanish brought the appaloosa to the new uncharted land.  The appaloosa is a great saddle horse.  They work great for several tasks.  If you want a good strong horse that can take you up into the mountains, or use in shows or even rodeos, appaloosa are great to use.

Appaloosas are best known for their spots and blankets on their rump.

As Gertude Armstrong stated once in her poem entitled Love at First Sight, the Coffee Cup Appaloosa all start on one dam.  The dams' name was Snow and Gertude had met Snow at a rodeo and knew right of the bat that she wanted her.  The owner, Leo Cramer, was also the owner of the rodeo.  Well one day, the flagpole that Leo carried into the arena during the Grand Parade, had granted Gertude her wish.  Snow took one lunging jump and a dizzy spin and off Leo went.  Gertude and Leo traded straight across.  He got a "hell" of a bucking horse and she got a great riding horse that she had wanted since she first laid eyes on her.

Snow was bred to a stallion of the Marcus Crowley line.  The colt was named Golden Glow and they started the Coffee Cup line.
